Trader Giotto's Brand Pizza Crust


Pizza night! It's definitely a thing at our house. Probably yours too. Used to order takeout/delivery...but after a while, paying a premium for waiting 45 minutes for someone to deliver a mediocre lukewarm pie when your stomach is growling and kiddos are howling gets old. Time to make your own.

Well, you could go the old TJ's doughball route (not a bad one, we've done it plenty)...or make it even easier and a lot less messy with Trader Giotto's Brand Pizza Crust. This is our new go-to. They're prebaked and ready to top with whatever you fancy, and just a few minutes in the oven - BOOM. Pizza.

Now, there's other premade pizza crusts out there  - but these are the best I've had yet. The outer edges and corners get all crispy and crackery-crunchy while the middles maintain a lot of chewy breadiness. There's that light, pleasant carby flavor that carries through as well, although it doesn't shine through as much with red sauce. Sandy and I have made a white pizza with a little extra olive oil and garlic, with chicken and veggies on it on a few occasions, and the outcome is legitimate restaurant quality for a fraction of the price.

The two pack runs maybe $3 at the most and is definitely worth trying out for your next pizza night. Thumbs up all around our family.

  2. Is this in the fresh dept? I tried the frozen pizza crust and it was awful.. even the guy who orders the frozen items agreed that it was about the worse... the fresh one that comes in a ball seems to be a keeper.. rolling it beats the pre-rolled frozen one.

    1. Yeah, in the fresh section. For some reason at the store I frequent they are usually on an endcap. But these would be right at home in the bread/bakery section.

  3. Are these like "flatbread" pizza type deals? Kind of like personal or appetizer size? I ask because my husband is built like a linebacker and there is no way we could split a little pizza.

    1. They're thicker than what I'd call a flatbread...good news is there's two in each package :)

  5. I use the frozen naan bread as pizza crust. Crispy crunchy edges and chewy all the way thru. I'm kind of addicted to TJ naan bread pizza.

  6. Yesterday I looked for this at my local Trader Joe's (Massachusetts) and couldn't find it. Employees and store managers said they have never heard of this product before. They tried to look it up in their system and the computer brought no results. One of the managers suggested that it might be a local product from a local vendor/farm/bakery sold only at Trader Joe's in certain areas?

    1. It's definitely available in South Jersey—and apparently Pittsburgh as well. It is pretty tasty.

  7. I've never seen this in nyc locations, but i'll look next time i go. I also use the frozen naan for a personal pizza- and since dairy hates me i use TJs vegan shredded cheese which melts great along with whatever veggies and maybe some of the italian soysage if i have it.

  9. I just got a double pack yesterday and I am pretty sure it is made by Brooklyn Bred based on the size and packaging. Best to avoid sauce but lightly brush with EVOO and then top with grated TJ's whole milk mozzarella, sliced fresh heirloom tomatoes, and whatever else you have. I used oyster mushrooms, broccolini, super thin sliced red onions, and some TJ's fresh mozzarella. When it is done, add some fresh basil leaves and thin sliced pecorino romano. It's like a canvas for whatever you have on hand.
